If you can filter out all the praise and patting on the back, then there is definitely something worth reading here.The more I read these parenting/teaching books, the more I like them. Not really what I was expecting at all.Overall I liked the content in this book and will use many of the strategies with my own children. Confining the book to the purpose touted by the title would lead to a 20 page pamphlet lacking in the personal details which can lead to actual enlightenment, hence the low review. Overall, though, I enjoyed her book and thought that she made some valid points that every parent and teacher, and anyone else who interacts with children for that matter, should pay close attention to.By simply reading a book called ‘How to Raise Successful People’, I’m truly showing my colours, and by that I mean my unwarranted optimism. She blogs regularly for Huffington Post and is co-author of Moonshots in Education. I think her goal with writing this book was to use whatever influence she has to make our world better.

This one is tough to review. I found it very annoying. Also, I am biased against the American need to simplify everything and create a framework for everything like the TRICK framework she proposes.
