Trails and glacial grooves were nearby. The park was pretty quiet. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
The glaciers cut through the bedrock and left deep depressions which then filled with water as the climate warmed, forming the Great Lakes.

Attached to a state park on one side, boat launch and walkable pier on the other side, you can ride a bike or golf cart down, anchor a boat, and take a swim from the smaller north pond? The State Park provides some of the best views.

Whatever time of year you choose to visit Kelleys Island State Park in Sandusky, it’s always a good idea to reserve a package deal. The park is right across the street from the glacial grooves, which is a cool bit of ice age history. It's located along the northern shore. Bathrooms are available. Campers love this place and it books quickly.

The beach area was OK it wasn't entirely clean as the waves wash up debris. I liked the little camp store and the side trail down to the beach. Love the location! Glacial grooves are right across the street (interesting to see) and there is very good snake & toad hunting on the island (if your kids are into that sort of thing).

I will probably be back someday in the future.

NO rest for the wicked here!We stayed here over Labor Day weekend 2015 and had a great time!

Nicknamed Lake Erie’s Emerald Isle this park offers a glimpse at the unique shoreline of low cliffs and limestone shelves. No road will take you here, but a ferry will, so make sure your ready to detach from the mainland. You can hear their music, and it is a very festive vibe. The beaches were clean and well-maintained! The campsite had a lot of trees/shade, and was close to the restroom but not too close (#41). Pretty location and scenery but ultra disgusting, unkept stinking outhouse restrooms.

The ones nearer to the lake are a little closer together, but away from the lake, the spots had a lot of space. We will return!I spent a night here in mid-September, which is definitely NOT the high season. Kelleys Island State Park is a popular dog beach in Marblehead, OH.
