city slickers 2 review

The three men go to Vegas and set off for a few days on their treasure hunt. This movie was an overall eye-rolling train wreck which was only made to capitalize on the laurels of the first one. And there were some funny moments, if not anything that I would quote like in the first. Don’t worry, it won’t take long. Not only is the basic plot structure the same, but all the clever comic moments from the first film are carefully milked again here.

Every so often you get a sequel to a really good movie that is even better than the original; sadly this is not one of them. Was this review helpful? If you want my advice, stick with the original, a funny film that had good jokes, emotion, and even some lessons, and somehow felt like an original, good comedy. Parents need to know that City Slickers is a 1991 comedy in which three New Yorkers having midlife crises go west to take part in a cattle run that goes awry. I wish I could go back in time and sabotage this movie.

Utter contrivance is the only way to describe this complete rehash of the 1991 smash hit comedy "City Slickers". "City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold" brings back Billy Crystal as Mitch Robbins, and Daniel Stern as Phil Berquist, plus a new cast member: Jon Lovitz, playing Crystal's brother Glen. "City Slickers" features real characters, with real problems, real dilemma, and real fears, in a sort of psychological build-up that makes the whole experience even more insightful. Though nowhere as good as the original City Slickers is a great diversion from the chaotic world of today. Burn the sets, kill minor actors. I liked the constant light hearted comedy of "City slickers 2, the legend of Curly's gold", which was similar to the many great comical moments of "City slickers". Get lost in the Texan sun and early 90s charm. Staff (Not Credited) Uneven sequel has Billy Crystal, brother Jon Lovitz and close friend Daniel Stern hitting the old west one more time to find Curly's gold (Jack Palance from the first film). Mitch, Phil and his annoying brother Glen set out in search of Curly's lost treasure once they discover a map.

The acting is also fairly subpar; trying to recapture the chemistry of the first film, but failing miserably. The film received negative reviews from critics.
