Anywhere to anywhere in townsville is probably around a 20 – 30 minute drive (northern beachs excepted) Try to avoid the whole living your life in aircon, you will never acclimatise. The CBD and The local newspapers website allows you to search for situations vacant here;I happen to like Annandale and Douglas close to shops, hospital etc...but my favourite is probably Kirwan.Wife is right, Kirwan is great, close to shops and of course the Cowboys Stadium.So dont go to Vincent, Garbutt, Kelso, Cranbrook these are all high crime areas. Kirwan is a huge suburb – as big as a small town – there are some areas I'd definitely avoid, but we lived in Kirwan for a while and it was a good area (it was zoned to willows ss).

I currently work for a bank but am open to changing that, I prefer to live alone, I’m not particularly fussed on night life but I would like to travel and spend my weekends sight-seeing.
