The Shelby Splash Park is FREE, and is open from morning to evening (the indoor pool has specific hours of operation depending on whether you want to play, swim laps or attend a class). There are also 27 campsites with clean showers and hot water. City Park Pool is the best place to be during those hot summer days in Fort Collins. The playground is newly renovated and has several kid friendly play structures, surrounded by a vintage miniature train track with a locomotive and cars that are great fun to ride. Shelby’s Lake Sheloole Campground and ball field complex also offers recreational opportunities with 5 ball fields and connection to the 5.2 Roadrunner Recreation Trail. Did I mention that you can ride the train and carousel for just a handful of quarters?
Shelby Park is the home to the Edna Cowboys Baseball Team, the Edna Cowgirls Softball Team, the Edna Little League Baseball and Softball Teams, and the Edna Youth Football Association. A dedication was held on July 27th, 2019 in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary Celebration. On April 1st, 2019 Shelby City Council approved the renaming of the Holly Oak Park Center and Gymnasium to Clarence M. Palmer Center. City Park Pool provides you with a water park experience right in your own backyard. The City of Shelby has done a great job planning and keeping the Park. The Pioneer Park dog park is not yet open for registration. This grant allowed for the garden to be expanded and the purchase of a storage building, tools, irrigation supplies, seeds and other items that will ensure the garden can serve the local community and others. The park has a wonderful pool that can be enjoyed by everyone. There is a pool, the golf course, playing fields, walking track, a carousel and a small train. The gymnasium, stage, entrance way, lobby, administrative offices, game room, and rest rooms were completely remodeled. The building was officially dedicated and re-opened on December 1, 2004.Civic groups and other organizations also use this facility as well as the Activity Center for showers, birthdays and family gatherings.
